Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Applications Developer Architect to provide architectural leadership across critical pension systems, specifically PDR (Pension Data Repository)and IPS (Integrated Pension System).
This role will focus on legacy system transition, architectural governance, and system modernisation, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with regulatory and public sector standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide end-to-end application architecture oversight across IPS and PDR
Lead and produce high-quality application designs for:
Enhancements
Defect remediation
Integration changes
Drive legacy system decommissioning strategy, including:
Dependency mapping
Cutover planning
Data archiving & audit compliance
Support PDR β IPS transition, including migration strategy and execution
Review releases for:
Architectural alignment
Operational readiness
Risk mitigation
Ensure compliance with governance, security, and data protection standards
Provide technical leadership & mentoring to internal teams
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business & regulatory requirements into technical solutions
Required Experience & Skills
Core Expertise
10+ years in Application Architecture / Enterprise Systems
Strong experience in the pension systems domain, especially PDR
Proven track record in:
Legacy system modernization & decommissioning
Large-scale enterprise application design
Integration architecture (APIs, data flows, governance)
Technical & Functional
Deep understanding of:
Data structures & database schemas
Business rules and system workflows
Data governance and reporting frameworks
Experience with:
Dependency analysis & cutover strategies
Data retention, archiving & audit requirements
Strong exposure to integration with internal/external systems
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Experience leading development teams and driving delivery outcomes
Strong ability to review and assure architecture/design quality
Excellent communication skills β able to present to both technical & non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Background
Experience in the Public Sector
OR Consulting experience with:
Big Four Accounting Firms
Exposure to large-scale transformation programmes
Work Model
Hybrid role based in Dublin
Candidate must be based in Ireland and available for onsite collaboration when required
