Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP HANA DBA Architectto join a global team in a fully remote capacity. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing enterprise-scale database environments while supporting the EMEA time zone. This role requires deep technical expertise in SAP HANA, strong database architecture knowledge, and hands-on experience across cloud and Linux-based environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, implement, and manage SAP HANA database architectures for high availability, performance, and scalability

2. Administer and support SAP HANA and Microsoft SQL Server platforms in complex enterprise landscapes

3. Develop and manage database backup, restore, and recovery strategies

4. Provide technical leadership for high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions

5. Perform and support system copies, refreshes, and migrations

6. Ensure database security, compliance, and access control best practices

7. Support and improve automation processes using scripting or automation tools

8. Troubleshoot complex database performance and stability issues

9. Maintain structured technical documentation for daily operations and architecture changes

10. Participate in on-call and weekend support on a rotational basis

11. Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams across regions

Required Skills & Experience

1. 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator / Architect

2. Strong expertise in SAP HANA and Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL)

3. Solid conceptual and practical understanding of RDBMS technologies

Proven experience in:

1. Database backup & recovery

2. Security concepts and strategies

3. System copies and landscape management

4. High availability and disaster recovery planning

5. Strong Linux administration experience (mandatory)

6. Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, including:

7. Microsoft Azure

8. AWS

9. Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

10. Exposure to automation tools, scripting, or process optimization

11. Ability to work independently in a remote, global delivery model

Good to Have

1. Experience with additional databases such as ASE, DB2, MaxDB, or similar

2. Professional certifications related to database platforms or cloud technologies

3. Prior experience supporting large-scale SAP landscapes
